Don'ts - What NOT to do with your handyman projects
This is where we would like to give examples of what NOT to do when you are working on your own handyman projects. If you have any good stories or links to good handyman mistakes, construction screw-ups, or home improvement disasters, please send them to us from our Ask Eli page.
The biggest don't that I can give you is this: Don't start a project that you can't finish. It will cost you more in the long run than if you just hired a handyman service in the first place. Make sure you understand the scope of the project before you start. Then assume that it will take a little longer than you think it will, because it probably will. Read our Articles, and Ask Eli if you need more information. If you are still confident that you can complete the project, then we suggest that You Fix It Yourself.
